BCA Consultants continued to grow throughout the ‘90s. In July 2008, the firm was acquired by the VDM Group, a publicly listed engineering and construction company. This acquisition was brief. However, In November 2013, BCA Consultants again became a privately-owned company, with all shareholders actively involved in the daily operations of the business. The leadership team, comprised of Tony Richards, Warren Levisohn, Graham McShane, Chris Meisinger, Darrel Grant, and Chris Lawrence, brings a wealth of experience from a variety of specialities, allowing BCA Consultants to offer a wide range of solutions. Several are members of notable industry organizations, including the Fire Protection Association of Australia, the Society of Fire Safety, and the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers.
The BCA Consultants’ team stems from a variety of different fields, including the fire protection industry, plumping, communications distribution networks, thermal systems, and ventilation.
Projects
To date, BCA Consultants has completed over 20 high-profile, extensive engineering and construction projects. In 2004, the firm completed construction of the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, a seven hectare site area with 16,500m2 of exhibition space, a tiered auditorium capable of seating 2,500 delegates, a 2,500 seat grand ballroom, 18 meeting rooms, and 138 serviced apartment units.
BCA Consultants also provided the lighting and audio-visual systems in the construction of Curtin Stadium at Curtin University. The result was high level computerized lighting control with the use of high efficiency, low maintenance lighting systems. BCA Consultants’ work at Curtin Stadium has since won several awards, including the 2010 AIA (Western Australia Chapter) Design Award for Interior Architecture, the 2010 MBA Bankwest Excellence in Construction Award for Best Commercial Project, and the 2010 Best Public Use Building Award.
